Some work isn’t just a matter of following directions. It can be a matter of precision skill and effort. You’re the best judge of whether you can perform a job or not, just try not to get in over your head.

Finally, there is the question of what you should have done. To answer this, just have a look around your kitchen or have a friend give you their unbiased opinion of them. Then you should start doing things that you can afford and that you have the time to do. Everything else you should leave to qualified professionals. Just make sure to go with a company with a proven track record of performing quality work at a reasonable price. Find a company that wants return business, as they’re most likely to do good work all the time.
